MCR stunned Manila! Contributed by:batobatopick @ 19 Feb 2008 02:09 am
MCR stunned Manila!
My Chemical Romance (MCR) – a quintet band of talented musicians namely Gerard Way (vocals), Ray Toro (guitars), Mikey Way (bass), Frank Lero (guitars) and Bob Bryar (drums) had showed off their rock flair last January 25, 2008 at The Fort Open Field, Taguig. Tickets were all sold out with three (3) classification (Gold section = Php 3,862.50, Silver section = Php 2,575.50, Bronze Section/General Admission = Php 412.00). ………………
It’s the first time of this American Music Award-nominated and Grammy award-nominated band to come and perform in Manila. This concert was the first part of their Asian leg of The Black Parade Tour. It started around 9:30pm and doing the front act is the Malaysian band Popshuvit with Slapshock’s Jamir Garcia jamming on vocals had warmed up the crowd. And the long wait of the MCR fans is over when Gee (Gerard Way) dressed in black from head to toe with matching eyeliner, urging the crowd to move as he did, which made a spark between the band and the thousands of people present that night.
The crowd went wild on a total of 20 songs listed below in order:
1.) Disappear
2.) Dead
3.) I’m not Okay (I Promise)
4.) Give ‘Em Hell Kid
5.) Sharpest Lives
6.) Mama
7.) My Way Home is Through You
8.) Cemetary Drive
9.) Black Parade
10.) I Don’t Love You
11.)....

RED HORSE RAKISTA RAKRAKAN SERIES 6
January 5, 2008
DAYO BAR
Rakista.com, a website dedicated to promoting Philippine Rock Music together with Red Horse Beer Extra Strong, started the year 2008 with a bang with it’s 6th Rakrakan event last January 5, 2008 (Saturday) in Dayo Bar, Quezon City. The night started out earlier than expected because most of the excited attendees of this much awaited event arrived early so they could grab a copy of Rakista Compilation CD, Rakista.com and its registered band’s giveaway gift for this New Year.
The night started out with the band August Mayhem. This five-piece talented, young dudes blast it off with their unforgettable set! Mr. Nimrod, who’s also a high ranking registered member of Rakista.com together with Miss Gaye started hosting the night by having the 1st batch of Red Horse Beer “Beer Drinki....

The Pinoy metal scene today, as far as I know is following the fast-paced meter stick. It determines how heavy a band usually is. Hence, innovation of sound adds up to the intensity of their music which surprisingly, catches the ear and suits the taste of a Pinoy metalhead. And Barabbas (not the doom metal band from Germany) is among other bands who did just that.
I saw this guys live last night at Coastnet bar in Katipunan and I admit I did a standing ovation after they played their three-song set. Pretty impressed with how they interact with the crowd as well as with ....

First, I must admit that I am a Moonspell fan. I have loved each and every album so much that I think I connect to them on a personal level. That is to say that this review may be a biased one because I'm giving this compilation album, an 8/10 rating, imperfect only because I personally would have changed a few tracks.
I rarely do reviews, and this has got to be my first here in Rakista. No....
