* Recognized as the Philippines' Kings of Dark Metal. Dahongpalay has been around in the Metal / Underground scene in Manila for over 13 years now. The band was founded and managed by Mon "The Doctor" Zialcita of LA.105 during the reign of the 80's metal era. Dahongpalay released a 15-compilation albums under Tone Def and released a Debut Album entitled KAPATIRAN NG BAKAL AT APOY under Ivory records.
The band is composed of
EURD DELA HOSTRIA-Bass and Vocals,
JOJI CRISOLOGO-Lead Guitars, and
RAMIL- Sessionist/Drums.
* DAHONGPALAY, one of the Philippines' prime movers in the underground metal scene is about to unleash it's venom once more via their up-coming album XIII. Heavy, Aggressive, Dark, Melodic and Intimidating music is what you could expect from this group.
Dahongpalay refers to a breed of snake that is considered to be one of the most venomous in the planet. In English- A Rice field Snake. As per the Book of Snakes; A Dahongpalay can kill its prey two ways-
* By its venomous lethal bite and
* By a mere touch of its scales.

Dahongpalay really marked its venom to their audience and listeners during those times. After a few gigs and tons of radio airplay, the group earned the title of The Philippines answer to Black Sabbath and was even later christened as The Philippines Kings of Dark Metal.. The rest as they all say is history.
The band has appeared in almost all of the compilation albums of Tone Def Label and in 1996, Dahongpalay released its debut album entitled Kapatiran ng Bakal at Apoy under a major label Ivory Records. The sales of the album went up to gold.
They also made a rendition of Florantes Pinay and was included in Ivory Records Himig Album 1 and gained a lot of airplay in LA105.9 and even other stations as well.
Dahongpalay is composed of three extra ordinary individuals hailing from different realms in the underworld.

Dahongpalays major influences are the following :
Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, DIO, Black Label Society, Badlands, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Helloween, Hammerfall, Blind Guardian, Dokken, Sacred Reich, Loudness, Slayer, Pantera to name a few.
With the over exposure of Rap and New Metal in the airwaves nowadays, Dahongpalay listens to a few of them like Disturbed, Soil,Godsmack, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Mushroomhead, and Papa Roach. For them, these bands have tons of balls compared to other so-called new school bands
By the way, for Dahongpalay, they dont believe in New School / Old School Shit. For them Rock is Rock, Metal is Metal, Rap is Rap, Kundiman is Kundiman, Shit is Shit.If you play good youre good, if you play crappy youre crappy. Play and do want you want to do. Dont play for money, play for the craft and for the gift of music that you possess.
