Band Members

Initially Landas Started as a trio with founding members Jose Caesar "kulot" Bitudio, Jose Thomas "Tom" Bitudio and Jemuel "Jem" Bernaldez; all students of UST. Shortly after a few gigs there was a need for a female vocalist, ta-da! Enter Elaine Kim Abenir. Hailing from UP Diliman, Kim has been the power house vocals of Landas. She was the reason why the band got onto a regular Thursday gig at Freedom. She also helped the rest of the band with the influences the band needs to bring out the best in us. If that was not enough, recently joining member Bernard Allan "burnz" Exevea decided to give the band a shot. Burnz after a long hiatus on the band scene decided to cut ties with being just a fan and a roadie, and finally agreed to join Landas. Being a Djembéfola and a Bongocero, Burnz was talked into bringing the "spice" into Landas.

Landas

Starting out fresh on October 08, the band was initially a trio consisting of Caesar, Tom, and Jem. Influenced by Old School rock&roll, and modern Funk Rock, Landas started playing for the Skylights production, making a usual and frequent show at Freedom Bar Anonas. Playing a mix variety of Funk and Rock, the band was not quite the powerhouse as it is known now. Starting out was tough for the band despite the fact all members were well experienced in dealing with bands. Ces and Tom are brothers who have been into band playing for quite a hefty period. And Jemuel who has been into band playing since 3rd year highschool. After a handy amount of playing, the band realized they needed an extra hand... The search for a good vocalist has started.

We all thought it would be a tough search. Looking for a quality vocalist. But one day, Bernard was chatting with his local neighbour, she mentioned a girl was looking for a band, and she was asking who was the one with the "kulot" hair is and if he was in a band. Enter Kim Abenir. Bernard introduced Kim to Landas in hoping that she might be "good enough. But when practise came, she was not your typical, goth-metal looking vocalist. She was INDEED a Power singer. Such voice coming from a lady.

After Kim has been voted as the official vocalist of Landas, the band was never the old band it was. Having a fresh old start, bringing out the old tunes and mixing it with Kim's taste for old school music. Producing the Landas feel of music. Kim Started singing for the band on January 09. With Kims stunning voice, Landas was invited to be a regular Thursday family player by Ma'am Clara of Freedom bar, still playing as always. (Thanks Ma'am Clara).

Recently, with much due activity with the band and frequent attendance, Bernard was talked into playing with Landas. A long friend and a friendly neighbour to the Bitudio brothers and Former bandmate of Jemuel in highschool. Bernard now plays Percussions mainly, Djembé and bongo for Landas. Adding a bit of spice to what the band has now to offer.

5 members, 5 good friends, all different influences, one passion. Music playing has never been this fun for us, as we hope that you will enjoy the music we bring to you.

Jemuel's funky bass solo, Caesar's exotic guitar licks, Tom and Bernard's urban funky beats, and Kim's powerhouse vocals. What more can you ask for? Catch us live on our gig dates! See you there!
